more from Jasper.

This is the closest we will ever get to staying at the Jasper Park lodge, the famous (and expensive), fabulous hotel in Jasper. Sean was delighted to see Santa's sleigh with the reindeer. He sat in the sleigh singing Jingle Bells. He wasn't so impressed with the bears. He was terrified. It is well worth the trip out to see the Lodge. The views are spectacular. I would love to go ice skating on the lake, and have a massage after. Some day....

Winter in Jasper

We are just back from our third trip to Jasper. We have fallen in love with this little village in the Rocky mountains.

We went to see if the majestic Athabasca falls which we saw this summer had indeed frozen. Aldo and I were bought, they have partially frozen. Jasper really has to be seen in all seasons.

Here is Sean beside the train he loves to see in Jasper village.

Sean loves Jasper. He also loves eating snow!!

We took the opportunity to go snow shoeing. Despite what looks like an overcast sky in the pictures, it was a perfect day. This is one of the many lakes in Jasper. It is called Pyramid Lake.

Update

I can't believe that I haven't posted since May. I have quite figured out how to post pictures using a mac and Aldo is never here...
Sean has really grown since May. He is speaking a lot and certainly knows his own mind!
I work three days a week minding two other girls. Sean comes with me. I mind a five year old and her sister who will be two next year in their home.
Sean turned two and got a digital piano for his birthday. His dad mainly plays it.
Sean loves the beatles surprisingly and can sing a bit of Hey Jude. He loves music in general. He attends a music class for toddlers on Saturday morning with his dad.
I'll try to post some pictures now.

new words

Sean is beginning to talk more and more.
His main vocabulary consists of animal sounds. If I point to an animal he makes the sound. Except for a giraffe which he calls 'iraffe'.
He says what sounds like 'key' for milk and 'vroom' for car.
He uses the italian word 'qua' most of all. It means 'here', for example he just point out a picture of the moon 'qua moo'.
He calls flowers 'nice'.
And of course his favourite word of all is NO : )

Sean and his helmet

Mammy wasn't careful enough when she was putting on Sean's help. I caught his skin in the clip under his chin.
Now ever time he sees the helmet he says 'ow'. I don't even know where he learn the word ow.
He saw a picture or a hippo wearing a helmet in a book. He pointed to the helmet and said 'ow!'
I think that we have scarred him....

Happy New Year!

We'd like to wish all our family and friends a very Happy New Year. Thinking of you all here in Edmonton.

Sean's present from Santa

Ice Skating on the Lake

We went ice skating on the lake in Hawrelak Park on Stephen's Day. It was lovely. They have a shack to get changed in and they play music. There is lot's of space for everyone to skate. People even bring their baby's in strollers.

Peek A Boo!

Sweeping the floor.

Sean loves to help his mammy with the housework. He likes to make extra work...
Here he is sweeping the floor and of course having a well earned rest after all that hard work.

Learning Tower

Niall and Trish came to visit us for two weeks. While they were here they building us a Learning Tower! Thanks Niall and Trish. Sean loves his learning tower. Now he doesn't fall of his chair when he wants to wash the dishes and help me bake.

Christmas Party Bus

A friend of ours invited us to join her family on the Christmas Party Bus! It is such a good idea! Her mother in law hires a bus, decorates it with Christmas Decorations and drives around all the Christmas sites in Edmonton while a band of family members sing Christmas Carols. We went to see the Christmas Tree in Churchill Square (see picture). Then we stopped for free hot chocolate to hear Carols in the legislature building. We went to see Candy Cane Lane where most of the residents decorate their houses every year.
