organic box

We get a weekly delivery of organic fruit and veg. It is a great way to try food that you wouldn't normally buy.
Sean loves to transfer the fruit from one side of the box to the other.
Do you like his green smoothie moustache.

Book Worm!

Here is a picture to keep for his 18 th.
Sean loves to read. He reads all the time, anywhere.

He signs 'more' at me and points at the books. He loves the lift the flap books.

True Italian!

So we have decided that the Italian's have mastered the thin crust pizza but the Canadian's have perfected the thick crust!
Like any true italian Sean loves his pizza.

Preparing for the winter.

It was getting cold so we figured that before we get stuck in the snow we best be prepared.
However Sean doesn't want to keep his new hat on!!

Thank you Uncle Niall and Aunt Trish

Sean loves his new lizard that came all the way from Vietnam!
Thank you Niall and Trish for the lovely presents that you got for Sean's first birthday. We can't wait to see you again on skype and hear your adventures.

Sean loves to play music....

a metal container and a spoon makes a great drum!

Van Morrison at Folk Fest

Folk Fest is one of the biggest events of the summer in Edmonton. It is the equivalent of Oxegan but more civilized and no camping. There is a ban on alchohol, like at most events here.
There is a great atmosphere.
The concerts take place on a ski hill over the weekend.
We really don't know anything about the music scene over here. Most of the artists I've never heard of. A lot of country music.
This is one of Sean favourite things to do; emptying my cupboards.

Time for an update.

We are making an attempt to update this blog weekly.
We will try our very best.
There is certainly always a lot to write about.

As usual we had a busy week. I may be a stay at home mam but I am never at home.
Poor Sean had a cold this week. It is hard to tell when he is hurting from his teeth or something else. Thankfully it didn't last too long.
We went to visit the old folks at the home we volunteer at. They absolutely love to see him!
Sean loves to play with their wheelchairs. They think that he is going to be a mechanic. You should see the way that he studies the chairs.
Sean had fun at his two playgroups. Today he tried the little slide. He wasn't sure what to make of it. He loves being around other people. He is such a social little guy.
Dassy thinks that he is going to be a rocker. He loves to 'headbang' to the music of Iron Maiden and Metallica. He loves music in general. He likes to have it on in the background. He also likes to lift the lid on the cd player and take the cd out.

We bought a lovely potty for Sean. We were just wanted to try it out with him. It was amazing. The first time he sat on it he did a big poo and a wee : ) Of course only other parents will know how truly great that is!

Hopefully I'll figure out how to put photos and videos up using this mac. It may be great, but I don't know how to use it.

As for life in Canada, it is amazing the differences in language. We had great fun trying to determine what jelly was. Jelly here is seedless jam. Whereas our jelly is known as "Gell-o" or simply Gelatine. Candy is the generic term for sweets and Cookie means any type of biscuit.
If you want a decent cupt of tea you have to ask for English Breakfast or Orange Pekeo(or Awake tea in Starbucks). Tim Hortons is the best! For 3$ you can get tea and a donut!

Until next week
Ciao from Orla, Aldo and Sean

(p.s. Riccardo or Sergio translate this for your parents)
